10 Hand-y Christmas Crafts for Kids

I am always looking for some new Christmas craft ideas for the small wonders in my life.

So I looked to Pinterest and of course, there are many, many fun and some very unique ideas. But what I did notice right away is that  the classic "hand print" craft is very prominent. Parents and grandparents love it. I have at least one from each of my children as well. It's a great keepsake and it it fun to look back at how little they were.

The hand print ornament would work even  for small children, bigger hands could add the details. This would make a great keepsake for a grandparent or caregiver too. The kids will look back at it for years to come, marveling at just how small their hands were!

How cute is this idea? Kids love paper bag hand puppets. They can decorate them many different ways and will have fun with them long after the crafting is finished.

After it's initial run on the refrigerator door, this hand print Christmas tree would be fantastic framed - to be enjoyed for years to come.

And who doesn't have or want one of these precious salt dough hand print molds? I love how simple it is but you could even add a little detail to  it, adding eyes and a nose.

Oh, these are so cute! Embellished with glitter, pom poms and pipe cleaners, they would make great gift tags too!

A fun felt Santa ornament for the tree!

This is a fun way to get the kiddos involved in making their own Christmas cards! Wouldn't a teacher or pediatrician love to receive this? And  if you flip the idea around and use brown paint (palm for the snout, two hand prints for the antlers) it could be a reindeer!

This looks like a foot and two hands but it is also a clever idea!

I think this hand print reindeer is super cute. It could go on the tree or on a special gift. Add the year and the name...instant keepsake! I think I will make this one with the little ones for their parents gifts!

And finally, one from the archives. Our son made this for us about fifteen years ago. I bring it out every year. Doesn't matter to me that the hand prints are smudged. I love that he made it himself and even though he is a man now, when I see it I remember the look in his eyes and just how happy he was to be giving this to us.

I love the red fingerprint dots for holly!

Happy Holiday Crafting!
