Muffin Pan Brownie Cookie Bars BROOKIES

This is an easy, delicious treat that everyone in your family will love! SHARE to save this to your profile! Any standard recipe will do, here is what I used:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

WHAT YOU NEED

CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE DOUGH

1 cup plus 2 tablespoons flour
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup granulated sugar
¼ cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
½ cup butter or margarine
½ cup or more chocolate chips

Add dry ingredients (except the chocolate chips) to a bowl and mix. Add wet ingredients to the flour mixture and combine until a dough forms. Add the chocolate chips to the mixture. Cover and set aside.

BROWNIE BATTER

1 cup butter or margarine
2 cups granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 eggs
¾ cups cocoa
1 cup flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
A pinch of salt

Note: I didn’t use nuts but if you wish you could add 1 cup of chopped nuts as well.

Melt butter or margarine in a medium sized pot over low to medium heat. Remove from heat and add sugar and vanilla, stir until well combined. Add eggs one at a time. Then add cocoa and mix well. Add flour, baking powder and salt. Stir.

HOW YOU DO IT

Add one tablespoon of cookie dough to each of the muffin tin cups. Flatten slightly with the back of a small spoon. Dipping it in cold water may help with sticking.

Now add 1 tablespoon of your brownie batter on top of the cookie dough and let spread. You can also spread this over the cookie dough with the back of a small spoon being careful not to push it down into the dough.

Muffin Pan Brownie Cookie Bars

Bake in preheated oven (375 degrees) for 11-14 minutes. Oven temperatures vary slightly so use a toothpick to test it.

When finished, let cool at least 10 minutes on a wire rack, then pop them out of the pan to continue to cool. Store in an air tight container.

*You can use muffin liners if you like. I tried it both ways and prefer them without liners.
**Keep in mind that you can add a variety of treats to the centre of these bars or add nuts to either or both the cookie dough or brownie batter.

Any which way, these will prove to be a family favourite before you know it!
