Drugstore Haul | Shopping for a little holiday shimmer

I went into the drugstore looking for a new holiday colour for my nails.

I didn't want the bright jewel tones or deep colours, I wanted something pretty and shimmery and sparkly. I did find a lot of metallic ones that were nice but I found they were either too coppery or too....gold, if that makes any sense. I was drawn to some rose gold tints but decided that it wasn't what I was looking for. But then...I came across Revlon's Creme Brulee. So pretty.  And then as I continued to scan through the colours an equally pretty sparkly pink glitter polish, in Sparling, caught my eye. At the time I was sure it had pink and gold flecks in it but it really seems to depend on the light. None the less, the two together are pretty and festive. Just what I wanted.

Off I went to grab some new foundation. I picked up Loreal's Magic Skin Beautifier BB Creme in Light and Cover Girl's Advanced Radiance foundation in Creamy Natural. I also picked up a Maybelline's Fit Me blush in light to try. I have tried the line before and although I wasn't crazy about the foundation I did like the pressed powder.

I also picked up some moisturizers. The change in weather has definitely started to make an impact on my skin already, so time to change it up. I grabbed Olay's Age Defying Classic daily renewal cream for basic facial moisturizing and also Nivea's Smooth Replenishing Body Lotion with Shea Butter and Smooth Replenishing hand Cream with Macadamia Nut Oil. I have tried the hand cream before and know that it works really well for the dry hands. I also picked up a Dove Go Fresh Body Mist.in Rebalance Plum.

As i was shopping, the sparkle of the nail polish I had in my basket kept catching my eye. I decided I should go and take a look-see at any new shimmery lipsticks that may be out. Might as well. Right?

I'm so glad that I did because I found a wonderful selection of Revlon's Colorburst Lacquer Lip Balms. They had a great display of both the shimmery line and the matte line but seeing as I was looking for holiday shimmer, the choice was obvious! I bought three, in shades - 150 Enticing Desirable, 115 Whimsical Fantaisiste and 140 Coy Timide (my personal favourite). They are all so creamy and so pretty I can't wait to try them all!

I decided at this point that I'd better get my behind out of the store before I did any more shopping but wouldn't you know it, near the checkout there was a nail and makeup gift display set up. There were many great gift sets to choose from but I wasn't really interested in buying any of them, I was just taking a look while waiting for my turn at the checkout. That is until I saw the NYX Soho Glam Glamour Studio Collection. It includes 52 eye shadows, 4 face colours/blushers, 8 lip colours, 2 lip glosses and 1 lip liner pencil. Even though it doesn't list the names of each shade I still thought it would be a great way to try out many NYX products. It's packaging is compact and there are many shimmer shades and some with glitter as well. Very excited to try this.

Pretty good start I think!
