Another day in MomVille | Super quick and easy fruit fly trap

We've been invaded.

Fruit flies are all around us. And it's making the kiddos nuts.

Here is a tried and true way to get rid of the problem.

You will need:
a cup
apple cider vinegar
dish soap
plastic wrap
an elastic band

What to do:
1. Fill a cup no more than about a quarter full with apple cider vinegar.
2 Add one drop of dish soap.
3. Cover the cup with a small piece of plastic wrap and secure it with an elastic band.
4. Poke about three holes in the plastic. Not too big. Just big enough for the flies to to get in.

The fruit flies will be attracted to the vinegar and will crawl in to get to it. Unfortunately for them, they cannot figure out how to get back out. Put a trap in spots around the house that seem the most affected but find a spot that it won't be easily knocked over and is away from little hands.

This may take a few days. I make new ones each day until the problem is gone. Some people use the same traps for a few days. I don't know if it makes a difference.

But what I do know is...this works!

Happy Monday in MomVille!

  1. I had some awhile back and my dad told me to use beer. I don't drink beer, but my hubby had some. It works, haha.
