Christmas Elf in a Santa Sack Cookies Picture Tutorial
If you follow my blog, then you already know that I decided to make a few new Christmas cookie designs this year. My reindeer guys have been lonely and nobody wants to be alone at Christmas. Not even the gingerbread. The more, the merrier I say!
I have already posted the girl reindeer cookie and this time I will share how I made this Elf in a Santa Sack!
I used a round cookie cutter and royal icing to make this one and experimented a little with an upside down gingerbread man cutter again. I started with the sack, making the blob for the bottom then, leaving a small space, adding the top portion of the sack.
I then added the elf feet. I do it this way because it gets more icing on there that isn't touching so that it can dry. This way I can move on with the design quicker! Let dry.
For this guy, I added striped legs so I started with white and placed three stripes going form the shoe to the bag on each leg.
Once that was mostly dry, I added the red between the white stripes.
I then added the sash or ribbon.
And then a few stars.
I was playing around with idea of using a gingerbread man cookie cutter for this one as well. I think it turned out pretty well. The only difference in decorating is that I used a simple white leg instead of stripes. This is much easier and less time consuming.
I hope you are all enjoying this holiday season.
I have at least one more design and cookie video to come before Christmas. If you are making any of these cookies please share them with me! I would love to see them! Tag me on Instagram you can also email me!
