Madeline Hatter Ever After High themed birthday cake
This week was my granddaughter's birthday.
As part of her celebration, she asked if I could make her a cake. She likes the show Ever After High
and dressed up as Madeline Hatter for Halloween so I thought this would be a good jumping off point.
I sketched it out and got to work!
It actually worked out perfectly. The colours of the character's outfit - purple, black and teal are some of her favourite colours. You will find these in her room, her clothes and definitely on her nails.
I covered the cake board with black fondant.
The bottom tier was a six inch chocolate cake covered in buttercream and purple fondant. I added a teal and white detail around the bottom like the character's dress and added a gold piping detail on top of that.
The next tier was a four inch vanilla cake covered in buttercream and black fondant. l I added a band of teal fondant to be the ribbon that wraps around it. I later added a bow made out or fondant with tylose powder added to it.
To top it off, I added a cupcake decorated as a teacup, sitting slightly tilted on top.
...and of course, there was glitter...lots of glitter.
My granddaughter was super happy with the cake. She was all smiles.
Doesn't get any better than that!
